My Project
Starting the school year with routines, structures, and expectations in place is the best way to ensure successful classroom management. The cleaning items being requested will help contribute to my students becoming productive citizens because they will be able to take pride in knowing that they are all helping to keep the classroom clean and germ-free. They will be contributing to the classroom environment that will carry us through to June.
Providing my students with a blank slate (tabula rasa) of a clean classroom will show them how I am trusting them to be themselves to leave their mark.
The goal of this project is to show students that messes can be cleaned up if we use the right tools (bleach spray, Clorox wipes, c-fold towels) and if we make a mistake in the classroom (or anywhere else in life) we can also clean it up by using the right communication tools. I usually find cleaning to be a bit therapeutic and a great time to reflect so I am hoping that my students can get the same experience!
