The 37-year-old has been performing as the electronic artist Talos since 2013 and is best known for his indie and alternative music style.

French was described as ‘a beautiful soul, a true artist, a son, a husband, a father, and a friend’ in a heartbreaking statement posted on his social media accounts following his passing.

The statement also revealed that Talos would be releasing new music in the near future.

Wild Alee, his debut album from 2017, received a Choice Music Prize nomination. He subsequentlywent on to release two more albums, Far Out Dust in 2019and Dear Chaos in 2022.

He waspartially basedin Iceland and performed regularly throughout Europe and the United Kingdom. Additionally, he supported artists like Bell X1, Bon Iver, and Dermot Kennedy.

The Cork artist initially began gigging with the ban Hush War Cry while attending college before he started performing as Talos.

French later worked in Iceland with INNI, an independent music publisher and record label based in Reykjavík.
